In 2019, Ed’s Fly Shop opened its doors at 432 E Main Street in Montrose, Colorado — right in the heart of some of the best fly fishing country in the West. The Gunnison River, the Uncompahgre, the San Miguel, the Gunnison Gorge — we have world-class water in every direction, and we’ve been fishing all of it for years.

We’re anglers first. Every person on our team fishes. When you call us or walk through our door, you’re talking to someone who was probably on the water last weekend and knows exactly what’s hatching right now. That’s something no big-box retailer can offer.

We serve anglers of every level — from the person picking up a fly rod for the very first time to the seasoned angler chasing trophy browns in the Gorge. We’ll help you find the right gear, point you to the right water, and if you want, we’ll take you there ourselves.
