Montrose County is governed by a three-member Board Of County Commissioners (BOCC) as mandated by the State Constitution. The commissioners are elected at large, though they represent the district of the county in which they reside, for four-year staggered terms.
The BOCC provides leadership and vision in guiding Montrose County government. It is the policy-making body of County government, and as such it is charged with overseeing the organization and budgets of a wide variety of County programs to benefit citizens.
